EPA Environmental Job Training
The EPA’s Brownfields Job Training Program addresses the dual challenges of environmental restoration and economic inequality. By focusing on historically underserved communities, the program aims to create a skilled workforce, advance environmental justice, and foster local economic growth.
The Center for Nonprofit Advancement in partnership with Atmos Foundation was selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to receive a $500,000 Brownfields Job Training Grant. This funding supports the Center’s fiscal partnership with Atmos Foundation, a nonprofit division of Atmos Solutions, a leading project contractor providing services including construction management, environmental, health and safety services, and Workforce Development. The Center/Atmos Foundation team will recruit, train, and place workers in environmental cleanup and revitalization jobs across Washington, D.C.
Participants will gain up to eight federal certifications, equipping them for roles such as hazardous waste cleanup, lead and asbestos abatement, mold remediation, and environmental health and safety.

The program is Free for all participants who qualify.
Participants have the opportunity to access higher-earning careers without accumulating student debt. Participants are responsible for getting themselves to class. Training location is easily reachable by public transportation.
